It’s no secret that hauling a big trailer with living quarters and stalls is a challenge. Not only do you have yourself and your horses to look out for, but you also have to watch for other drivers. There’s constant concern about how to fit into drive thrus 😉, whether roads are wide enough for your trailer, how to navigate tight city traffic and so many other factors to keep in mind.

Now, thanks to Lakota Trailers, we can worry a little less about one of those things. One of their newer features is designed to make our lives a little simpler and give us peace of mind driving these trailers in the city or on busier roads.

This new feature is the “Cub Blind Spot Detection System” or more easily referred to as blind spot assist. It functions using a detection system mounted midline on the trailer which senses both in-front of it and behind in order to best sense vehicles in the blind spots. From here it transmits a signal to a light located a few inches above the truck bed along the front left side of the trailer which lights up when a car is sensed. Additionally, If your turn signal is turned on while the light is on it will blink to let you know changing lanes is not safe.

Once again, Lakota brings us an amazing new feature to keep our hauling experience safe and give us peace of mind!
