Summer is here! Temperatures are rising, roads are hot, and gas is expensive! The last thing any of us want to do is stand at the pump for hours while our diesel fills the truck and watch the dollar signs tick up…slowly..slowly..to some wild price. I’m sure you’re all agreeing with me to this point, but what is there to do? We all have places to be and we all have horses and livestock to haul so what’s the point?

What if I told you there’s a trailer build that makes it more efficient to haul, saving you money on fuel, with a more aerodynamic build? Well, that’s it in a nut-shell. It’s not a particularly new thing either, just one that should be talked about more.

The build is called a V-nose which is common on cargo trailers but also widely-used in the horse trailer industry. Basically, the narrower nose of the trailer reduces the wind drag allowing the trailer to be more aerodynamic. The reduced resistance helps you make the most of your tank of gas and can give up to 5% more fuel efficiency. It’s not much, but it may be worth a glance next time you’re in the market for a new trailer!

If you’re interested in these trailers give us a shout and ask about v-nose trailers!
